It’s fair to say that the Peter Jackson series now available on Disney+ “The Beatles: Get Back” has the music world talking. The restoration is so amazing it looks as though it was shot yesterday.
It’s a fantastic inside look into the world of the Beatles. Below are posted two videos, the first is of a 60 Minutes Australia (Extra Minutes) interview with Cameraman Les Parrott who was one of the lucky film crew who spent three weeks with The Beatles during the making of their final album, Let It Be.
60 Minutes Australia asked Les about every member and then finally Ringo.
Interviewer: And Ringo?
Les: I never saw anybody tell Ringo what to do, musically. I say they’d all bring out their cue sheets and stuff, and be playing, and then Ringo would do his stuff and I never once heard someone give him any.. “oh can you?”… he just did it.
The second video is Variety’s Doc Dreams, presented by National Geographic, for Peter Jackson to talk about The Beatles’ rumored breakup being more joyous than he anticipated, how it is the longest he has ever spent in the editing room, How He Convinced Beatles Paul and Ringo To Let Him Make ‘Get Back’, and why George Harrison would be the best Beatle on a film set.
