Danmar Percussion Products was founded by Frank DeVito in 1970. After years of playing behind some of the biggest names in the music industry including Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, The Monkees, Herb Alpert, The Benny Goodman Orchestra and as a recording artist with Baja Marimba Band to name just a few. Frank found that many of the commercially manufactured drum parts just didn’t cut it so he began to develop his own. Finding that his own designs worked so well he formed his own company, Danmar, to make them available to drummers everywhere.
For over 25 years, Big Bang Distribution has fostered a strong working relationship with Frank DeVito and Danmar Percussion as their primary distributor. The Big Bang Team has always been a huge fan of Danmar’s giving spirit and innovative products, and taking over the production of this prized brand feels like a natural progression of events for us.
The Big Bang Team has been having a great time getting the in-house manufacturing dialed in, evaluating and improving on the look and durability of each product as we go. We are now working feverishly to crank out the first New Danmar products in many years like The Wicked Stick Holder and The Cherry Stain Bass Drum Beaters.
Danmar dealers and fans will be seeing new designs, new packaging, and a steady flow of more new products coming out of the new home of Danmar Percussion in the coming weeks and months, but can also rest assured that all of the original Danmar Percussion products that you have relied on and loved since 1970 will be around for many years to come!
