Dunnett releases limited George Way Snare

Dunnet Drums are releasing a very limited production of the George Way Transition Model snare drum 5.5 x 14.

The George Way Drum Company has a rich history and a significant impact in the drumming world.  After working for Leedy and Rogers George started his drum company The George Way Drum Company .  In 1977, Drum Workshop (DW) and Hoshino Gakki (the parent company of Tama Drums) jointly purchased Camco’s assets. DW would receive Camco’s inventory and manufacturing equipment, while Tama would receive the Camco name, the original design blueprints, and engineering rights.

Camco was originally a drum hardware manufacturing company which began producing drums after a hostile takeover of the George H. Way drum company in 1961.  In 1962 George Way passed away and the new Camco produced high quality drums until 1977, the year it closed down.  The company lay dormant until 2006 when independent drum and percussion product designer Ronn Dunnett acquired the rights to the GHW and George Way Drum Company and shortly thereafter began work restoring the company and maintaining the Way legacy.
