Guns N’ Roses has revealed Isaac Carpenter as their new drummer, just one day after the shock announcement of Frank Ferrer’s departure from the iconic rock band. Carpenter, known for his versatility and technical skill, will take over Ferrer’s position as the band prepares for their 2025 European, Asian, and Middle East Tour, where they will headline major stadiums and festivals across the summer.
The band made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a photo of Carpenter with the caption: “Welcoming Isaac Carpenter as the new drummer of Guns N’ Roses.” Carpenter, 45, hails from Washington’s Tri-Cities and has an extensive resume in the alternative and hard rock scenes. Over the years, he’s worked with a variety of notable acts, including Adam Lambert, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Awolnation, and A Perfect Circle. His career began in 1995 when he co-founded the group Loudermilk while still in high school, later signing with music producer Rick Rubin’s American Recordings label.
“Carpenter has made a name for himself by blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted drummer in the industry,” the band stated in their announcement.
Carpenter’s arrival comes after the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer, who had been the band’s drummer for 19 years. Ferrer, 58, first joined Guns N’ Roses in 2006, initially as a temporary replacement for Bryan “Brain” Mantia. His tenure spanned across numerous albums and tours, with his last show occurring in November 2023 in Mexico.
The band expressed their gratitude for Ferrer’s contributions, stating, “Thank you, Frank, for the friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the last 19 years.”
As the legendary rockers continue their journey, fans eagerly await Carpenter’s debut behind the drum kit during their upcoming summer tour.
