Meet Allan Leibowitz:
The founder of digitalDrummer and Drumming News Network contributor, Allan Leibowitz, is a renowned journalist and passionate drummer. Based in Brisbane, Australia, Allan has attended music industry events worldwide, both as a journalist and presenter. He founded digitalDrummer after struggling to find reliable and authoritative advice on electronic drums when he returned to drumming later in life. His mission was to create a publication dedicated to exploring the world of electronic percussion—something that was missing from mainstream drum and music media at the time.
As an experienced gear reviewer and advisor to e-drum companies, Allan has tested and reviewed a wide range of e-drum products. His firsthand experience with the gear allows him to provide valuable insights into the practical use and performance of electronic drums. When he’s not writing or reviewing, Allan uses e-drums for home practice, band rehearsals, and live performances, maintaining a diverse collection of instruments from both large and small manufacturers.
With a career spanning journalism, business events, and drumming, Allan’s extensive knowledge and passion for e-drums shine through in every digitalDrummer issue.
The E-Drum Experience Lab, hosted by Allan Leibowitz and featuring top e-drum experts, offers a unique opportunity to explore the latest in electronic percussion. Whether you’re a drummer, a retailer, or a software distributor, these sessions are designed to help you stay ahead of the curve and make informed decisions about your gear. Don’t miss out on the chance to see and hear the latest innovations in the world of electronic drums in the most skilled hands.
