The snare drum included in this listing was played on stage by Lars Ulrich during Helping Hands 2024 at YouTube Theater. The snare drumhead was autographed post-show in black Sharpie by all four members of Metallica (James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo).

Snare Drum Details:
For more than 20 years, Lars and TAMA have released several limited and anniversary editions of the Lars Ulrich Signature Snare Drum. A lot of research, time, and passion goes into creating these snare drums, often taking months and sometimes years to come to fruition. Along the way, an arsenal of prototype drums amasses – inevitably becoming the drums “that never were.” Up for auction is one of these prototype snare drums. A never-before-seen and unreleased version of the Lars Ulrich Signature Snare Drum.
This 6.5 x 14-inch diamond-plated monster is made of a 3mm slab of steel and finished in gloss Black Nickel with matching hardware. This incredible snare drum is truly one of one. It also features custom M72-themed artwork by legendary rock ‘n’ roll artist John Douglas, who has been a steadfast collaborator and supporter of All Within My Hands, having previously contributed his artwork to Helping Hands in 2020, 2022, and 2024.
Drumhead Details:
Remo drum heads have been on Lars’ kits for the last 40 years. The signed snare head included in this listing is a Remo 14” Controlled Sound Coated w/ Clear Dot On Top CS011422, constructed with 1-ply of 10-mil coated film and a 5-mil top clear top dot. In addition to being signed by the band, it also features the AWMH logo on the skin.
Cymbal Details:
The cymbals included in this bundle are truly unique works of art. Using Zildjian 19” inch A Custom Projection Crash cymbals as the canvas, John Douglas painted portraits on each. One features painted recreations of Lee Jeffries’ portraits included in the packaging for 72 Seasons, while the other features a painted recreation of a live photo of Lars during the M72 World Tour.
Drumstick Details:
The drumsticks are the cherry on top of the sundae that is this incredibly unique Helping Hands bundle! Included are a pair of sticks used by Lars on stage as well as an unused pair. Designed with a custom 72 Seasons yellow-inked AWMH logo, these high-performance Bang Distribution AHEAD Lars Ulrich model drumsticks were created specifically for Helping Hands 2024. AHEAD drum sticks are made of aerospace-grade aluminum tubing where the upper half of the stick has a replaceable polyurethane cover and threaded tip. 16.25” in length w/ long taper.
This item includes a verified hologram sticker and comes with a letter of authentication.

ABOUT JOHN DOUGLAS
Art and music. Music and art. These are the two passions that John Douglas has enjoyed, pursued, and juggled his entire life. Being an accomplished drummer and artist he ultimately combined them and began painting and customizing drums and guitars for many of the biggest rock bands on the planet including Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Maná, Van Halen, and ZZ Top, all while writing music and performing with various bands himself.
He now works behind the scenes and tours with many of these bands. While on tour he paints on canvas in his hotel rooms, exercising his creativity and love of portraiture. Primarily black and white portraits of what else…rock & roll stars. And his work has been appreciated and collected by many of the performers for whom he works.
The name John Douglas may not be familiar, but his work, featured on drums, guitars, album covers and concert stages, has been seen by literally hundreds of thousands of music fans. And his rock & roll portraits on canvas are in private collections and on display in Hard Rock Cafes, Hotels and Casinos all over the world.
