The A&F Drum Co. Aviator Series are directly inspired by the beautiful historic US Planes of old! Identical to the Featherweights, the Aviator series are handmade from Aircraft grade aluminum, these drums break all drum sound and weight barriers! With a full dynamic range of tunings, depth of sound and incredible warmth, it’s an anomaly that they are some of the lightest drums ever made!
All Aviator snare drums are made from aircraft grade aluminum shells, hoops, lugs and hardware, that’s right ALL ALUMINUM with Remo Ambassador heads and a raw brushed finish.
We hand cut, roll, weld, and sand our shells and hoops. Then we brush all the metal in house, we hand cut 45 deg bearing edges, then add our patented aluminum center-mounted lugs and hardware.
These snares and rack toms weigh under 4lbs, floor toms under 6lbs, and bass drums under 13lbs !!!

The Aviator Snares are full body, very sensitive , and extremely dynamic drums, not loud by any means but tune lower than their sizes and have a perfect balance between punch, warmth, and attack. Like ALL our drums, a sound engineers dream, they are extremely microphone friendly!
Each Snare drum is built to order.
Lead Time: 16 weeks (20″ or larger may take longer as custom heads will need to be ordered).
