The global interest and opportunities for female drummers are growing rapidly, as evidenced by recent events showcasing their talent and influence. This past weekend, the 3rd Annual Drum Queen Festival took place in Lagos, Nigeria, celebrating and empowering female drummers from across Africa.
Held on Sunday, August 18th, at Breath Of Life Ministry, the festival drew some of the continent’s most talented female drummers. The event, dedicated to empowering women through rhythm, offered a platform for these musicians to demonstrate their skills and inspire others.
The festival received support from notable sponsors including Tama, Paiste, and Aerodrums, highlighting the increasing recognition and support for women in the drumming community. This event not only celebrated the art of drumming but also underscored the growing opportunities for female drummers worldwide.
