With a conical cup, hammered, flanged edge and brilliant finish, this 7″ bell speaks immediately with a unique blend of overtones. Inspired by sounds used in traditional eastern ceremonies and rituals, the break bell is at home in the heaviest music applications, but also anywhere unique, complex, musical overtones are required. The thinnest FX bell in the Zildjian family, the Break Bell speaks quickly, with a uniquely playable feel.

  • Designed with Jay Weinberg (Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Slipknot, Suicidal Tendencies, and more)
  • Unique conical cup
  • Hammered, flanged edge
  • Complex, musical bell sound, with lighter overall weight
  • Buffed Brilliant finish

In a released statement Jay writes: “I’ve been playing drums for 20 years, and Zildjian Cymbals have been my choice since day one. But, when we started developing a prototype for this bell back in 2015, I never could have imagined that one day we’d produce it for a Concept Shop so other drummers could incorporate it into their own music!

I’m stoked to share more about the origins of this cymbal — the 7” FX Break Bell — and how nine years of periodic adjustments have led us to a bell that’s not only a great fit for aggressive playing styles, but a musical addition to any drummer’s kit.
