Joey Heredia, a beloved figure in the drumming community, is currently battling severe health issues. Recently diagnosed with both Parkinson’s Disease and Cancer, Joey is facing significant medical expenses. As many of us know, the costs associated with such serious health conditions can quickly add up. This is a crucial moment where every contribution counts.
As of today, Joey’s GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $81,000 of the $100,000 goal. This fund is vital to help cover the overwhelming costs of medical care, housing, food, and other necessities.
In June, a benefit event was held to support Joey. The fundraiser, which featured a star-studded lineup including renowned drummer Gregg Bissonette, showcased the tremendous respect and love Joey commands within the music industry. Gregg Bissonette has shared footage from this memorable event, highlighting the community’s effort to rally behind Joey during this challenging time.
Joey Heredia Biography:
Joey Heredia is a distinguished drummer known for his dynamic fusion of funk, Latin, and rock rhythms. His career began in East Los Angeles, where he emerged from a challenging environment to become a celebrated musician. By the time he was 22, Joey had already played with notable artists like Dianne Reeves, following in the footsteps of one of his idols, Alex Acuna.
Throughout his career, Joey has collaborated with an impressive roster of artists, including Stevie Wonder, Sheila E, Sergio Mendez, Herb Alpert, Tania Maria, Scott Henderson, and Frank Gambale. Currently, Joey serves as the Musical Director for Jennifer Page, is involved in producing projects at his studio, and co-founded “Groove Gallery Records.”
