As part of SABIAN’s on-going Vault Drop program, where new and innovative cymbal designs are launched initially on a limited basis, it has released a new, striking, wide lip China cymbal.
As the name suggests, the cymbal has a massive lip that encompasses half of the cymbal. Says head of SABIAN Research and Development, Randy Ross, “This larger edge allows you to dig in for a louder, roaring sound. Unlike most other Chinas, you can also play it lightly to conjure a softer sound, reminiscent of a crash or suspended cymbal.”
Adding further, “Despite its size, the HHX Wide Lip China is quite controllable and capable of riding or crashing. The unique bell and edge sounds can be played separately and together for great effects. And furthermore, it also works well played with mallets.”
Like all SABIAN Vault Drops, the 22” HHX Wide Lip China is available for a limited time only, starting from today.
