This Gretsch USA Custom drum kit, originally owned by Ben Sesar, drummer for Brad Paisley, epitomizes craftsmanship and vintage aesthetic. Built with Jasper shells renowned for the “Great Gretsch Sound,” each shell features a distinctive Gold Sparkle wrap adorned with double thick Full Dress Red Sparkle diamonds atop Black Nitron diamonds, reminiscent of early 20th century drum heroes. The classic shell sizes—14×24 bass drum, 8×12 and 10×14 mounted toms, and a 16×16 floor tom—are complemented by vintage Gretsch round badges and meticulously mounted sound hole grommets, enhancing its authentic retro appeal.
Key to its sonic excellence are the USA Custom cast hoops, integral to achieving the signature “Great Gretsch Sound,” ideal for recording and live performances. The kit, meticulously maintained and always used in its 24/14/16 configuration by the current owner, also offers flexibility. Displayed in photos with a 24/12/14/16 setup, it can be adapted to a 24/12/16 configuration, with the 14″ tom easily modified for use as a snare drum, showcasing its versatility in various musical contexts.
