4-New drumstick packs from ProMark:
Nine of the best-selling ProMark models are now available in 4-packs.
The Texan stick manufacturer ProMark underwent an extensive renewal last year and in the course of this also released 4-packs for the first time in the company’s history. In addition, ProMark introduces two bonus packs with three Hickory and one “FireGrain” pair. They contain the 5A or 5B models and are available for the same price as a hickory 4-pack.

“FireGrain“ on top
These bonus packs offer drummers something different from what they are used to in many ways. With the two most popular ProMark models, the 5A and 5B sticks, not only are four pairs offered at a much lower price; Rather, the four-pack also exclusively contains, in addition to three pairs of the regular 5A or 5B sticks, a pair of the respective stick variant from the ProMark »FireGrain« series. The “FireGrain” series uses a ProMark-patented heat tempering process that creates conventional drumsticks with unprecedented durability. Flambéing also makes the »FireGrain« sticks a visual highlight. Anyone who has perhaps shied away from trying out the “FireGrain” series for themselves because of the higher price can do so with a clear conscience – and without hurting their wallet.

In a large banderole
Incidentally, the eight ProMark sticks in the 4-pack come bundled with a large banderole – instead of the usual two pairs in their own banderole and then wrapped in cellophane – to your trusted dealer. The reason for this is obvious: when the sticks are sorted at the factory, they are grouped by weight. However, since wood is a natural product, the difference from pair of sticks to pair of sticks can sometimes amount to a two-digit number of grams. This often leads to constellations in which a particularly heavy pair of 7A sticks can weigh almost as much as a particularly light pair of 2B sticks. This circumstance makes it almost impossible to mix the sticks from conventional 4-packs with each other. The large banderole used by ProMark – in contrast to four individual pairs with their own banderole – is only possible thanks to the “ProMatch” process used by ProMark.

The “ProMatch” process
To sort the sticks, ProMark uses the company’s own, multi-stage weight and pitch process “ProMatch” to avoid excessive weight differences within a model series. In the “ProMatch” process, a decision is made as to what kind of model it should be at the end of production, before an embroidery blank becomes a finished stick. The stick blanks dried in the oven are first sorted by weight; then it is determined whether the blank will be a 7A, 5A, 5B or 2B stock, for example. This procedure prevents the described phenomenon of heavy 7A or light 2B specimens from occurring later. Since the blanks are already pre-sorted, not only are the sticks within a pair very close together, but also all pairs of the same stick type among themselves. The highlight is that, in principle, each stick can be combined with each other from the pack thanks to the “ProMatch” process.
